It looks like the blue mountains are on their way to thawing out so it's time to dust off the canyoning gear and get excited!
Newnes Plateau has some world class canyons which don't have too much water and are therefore cold weather friendly. There's also great hiking and a fair few local climbing options.
This is not the most beginner-friendly canyoning trip. Participants need to be reasonably experienced climbers, comfortable in confined spaces/around water and have the endurance to work pretty hard all day - it's a fair hike to the canyons, much of it off-track in steep bushland.
The plan is to camp at Newnes Plateau over the long weekend and do a series of day trips.
If you express interest, please note:
1. Whether you can drive and how many free seats you have.
2. If you're willing and able to lead climbing, hiking or canyoning trips.
3. Which activities you are interested in (note your experience if canyoning).
