The Canberra Balloon Spectacular is on again! Each day (weather permitting) the balloons inflate and lift off from the lawns of Old Parliament House. If you want to see these balloons up close from the lake AND you want to kayak then this is the trip for you.
We will meet at the ANU boat shed at 5:25am sharp to unload the kayaks to be on the water for 5:45 am. If you are late, you will be left behind. We will paddle out past the museum and towards Old Parliament House where the balloons will inflate from 6:15am.
Please bring $5 for kayak hire, warm clothes, a head torch and a water bottle.
This trip is weather dependent. The balloons won't fly in too much or little wind, or in rain. If the weather turns obviously bad I will cancel in advance, but the organisers don't announce whether the balloons are flying until 6:15am on the day. If this is the case we will already be on the water, but it will still be a nice paddle. We should be back and packed up by 8:30am.
This trip will be popular and signing up does not guarantee a spot. Please only sign up if you can definitely make it. Please do not sign up to multiple trips. You will receive a confirmation if you are on the trip on Saturday.
If you haven't kayaked with me before please detail your kayaking experience (including club trips) and swimming ability in your registration.
Gaurang and I will lead this trip.
