I'll be climbing near Bariloche, probably do a week or two in Frey, and maybe Cochamo. Even the rest day hikes should be spectacular. Let me know if you're in that area and interested in meeting up.
Ideal if you can lead trad at 18+, but even if you just want to second/prussic up to see the amazing peaks and needles, I'm keen to meet up!
I've done a fair bit of research into the areas around Bariloche, and think I'll climb near town for a few days (Pared Blanca/Cerro Ventana) while hunting down guidebooks and getting food for the hike into Frey/Cerro Catedral. I'll stay in Frey for probably 6-12 days (there is a refugio which serves food and malbec, but most will need to be packed in), grades range from 14-28+, mostly mixed trad. Depending on how I'm feeling and who's interested/who I/we run into, we might head over to Cochamo, the Yosemite of South America to do some real big granite.
We could meet up near Bariloche anytime between the 6th and 26th of Jan. I'll be traveling up from Puerto Natales via El Chalten from ~27th of December, so hmu if you're in that area too. It'd be sick to just do the first few pitches of supercanaleta or something on Fitz Roy, just to experience the insane scale of that rock.
