Hiss and Hearse. Snake toilet humour. C'mon, we've arranged for ANUMC and CBC members to meet live wild venomous snakes in a safe controlled environment (Allan's front yard), and I've only got 1 sign up!?!? This is your chance to have myths shattered and fears overcome, as knowledge of real snake behaviour dispels ignorant misplaced terror. A session with wild caught venomous snakes to further understand how they are likely to respond to various situations and what to do when they're encountered, or someone is bitten. This activity is offered by members of Queanbeyan Wildcare, some of whom are also members of the Canberra Bushwalking Club (CBC) and ANUMC. It is a joint session with members of the CBC. It will be held at 721 Bungendore Road Bungendore. Cost is $25 per participant. It's possible the ANUMC will refund/pay for some/all of the fee. We'll be outside in the sun. Long, loose fitting pants and footwear that does not have mesh uppers are essential to participate. Gaiters if you have them but do not wear tight fitting pants or runners. You will not be allowed to attend if wearing inappropriate clothes/shoes. We want to arrive in Bungendore at 8.45 am for a 9 am start, so let's meet at the Sports Union at 8:15. Transport is available from near ANU. Morning tea will be provided but please bring your own cup.
