Hi all! I am thinking about organising a series of navigation skill sessions in the following months. Please contact me if you feel confident in navigation and are willing to share it with the club. We can do this in so many forms - workshops, field sessions or even night navigation sessions if we are keen and desperate.
To start with, I want to make sure everyone is comfortable with taking a bearing. There are permanent courses on ACT orienteering website, which is perfect for people to start practising getting bearings. I am keen to do the Haig Park one on 27th June. I'll just focus on showing people how to take a bearing and sharing some other navigations skills randomly as I can think of.
A compass is a must. You can hire one from the gear store. Bring snacks and water, wear comfy shoes and socks.
We'll meet at Turner Scout Hall at 9:00 am, and wrap it up by 12:00. No car pooling will be arranged since it's just in Turner.
