Archived trip from old website run by Kate Ferguson
Due to popular demand it seems high time for some lead climbing training. This trip is aimed at people who have climbed outdoors at least once before and are familiar with tying in and belaying outdoors with a mega-jul. I will possibly take some people who have never climbed outdoors but your participation will depend on the experience of the rest of the group. Signing up does not guarantee participation. Talk to me first and let me know your experience.
**Everyone must include their experience in the comments when signing up. If you do not include your experience I will assume you haven't read the trip description and you will be removed.**
We will be heading to Nerriga which has a nice range of easy routes from 14-19. More information can be found here https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/nerriga. It is approx 1.5hours drive and the climbs are an easy 5-10min walk in.
Meet outside the SRA on Sunday at 7:50am to leave at 8am and return by around 8pm.
There will be no Pretrip.
You will need at a minimum:
- personal climbing gear: harness, shoes, helmet (yes this is compulsory); all this can hired at the gear store on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- sunscreen
- food and water (at least 2L, more if it's hot)
- cash for petrol (please bring exact change)
- sensible approach shoes
Lead training and Wig and Pen Slabs. Possibly Late Shift ledge or Austin Powers ledge in the arvo.
