Hi all,
Please join for a paddle in a beautiful Kangaroo Valley region.
We plan to camp at Bendeela Campground beside the Kangaroo River on Friday night. Camping is free. On Saturday morning we will drive 25km to Tallowa Dam. Here we will paddle along the Shoalhaven River toward Fossicker's Flat. It will be a 3 - 4hr paddle through Morton National Park enjoying some spectacular scenery. The river has steep gorges and occasional sandy beaches that we can visit for a swim or to launch into the river from a rope swing. On Saturday night we will camp at or just below Fossicker's Flat. On Sunday morning we will enjoy a leisurely return paddle to Tallowa Dam. If time permits and people are keen we may paddle up the Kangaroo River for more scenery and exploration before returning again to Tallowa Dam.
This is a flat water paddle so we will paddle sea kayaks and if needed we will also take some of the white water kayaks. First to sign up get the sea kayaks!!
Refer to the Bendeela Campground website at Water NSW for information on this site. Please note the list of restrictions. Go to: http://www.waternsw.com.au/supply/visit/bendeela-recreational-area
Please sign up early so we can organise transport.
We will post a few paddling trips on Lake Burley Griffin in the two weeks before this trip to get you paddle fit - watch out for those. For your efforts you will be rewarded with a coffee at Kingston Foreshore.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Galina
