Mt Bushwalker is a low hill, little more than a scrubby hump, on the Little Forest Plateau in Morton National Park. Its summit is not particularly attractive and hardly worth climbing given the impenetrable Hakea and Banksia. The 3km walk out to Mt Bushwalker is, however, definitely worth doing for the spectacular views of the Clyde Gorge, The Castle, Shrouded Gods Mountain and other highlights of the Budawangs which are visible from the edge of the escarpment just west of the hill. The views, amongst the best in the Budawangs, are reached by a distinct track across the relatively flat plateau. The route avoids the worst of the contour trenches of Cradle Swamp, and passes over a series of flat rocky sections interspaced with thick scrub. The walk starts and ends at Mt Bushwalker carpark on Pointer Gap Road, about 28km from Ulladulla, and should take about four hours to complete. Distance: about 7km +260m elevation. Map Tianjara 1:25,000.
