Archived trip from old website run by Melanie Stamell
A day of recreational paddling at Penrith White Water Stadium.
You'll need to be a competent grade 3 white water paddler in order to use the white water course ($38). However, there is flat water where you can practice your paddling if you're interested in getting in some flat water practice or to just check the place out... I think this is free (i'll make enquiries, if there is any interest).
I won't be providing any instruction, so in order to attend you'll need to convince me that you can look after yourself re your intended activities (just let me know what you intend to do and give me a brief history of your experience). Ultimately, if you're not good enough the people at the facility will tell you to get out of the white water areas.
We'll be leaving early Saturday morning (depending on when they are going to be turning the water on). It's about a 3 hr drive and we'll need to get boats onto cars... so we'll be leaving really early... I'll be heading to Sydney straight afterwards, so you'll need to bring your own car in order to get back to Canberra on the Saturday, though you're welcome to come and hang out in Sydney for the rest of the weekend.
