I'm thinking about doing any easy day walk on Saturday morning, to Gibraltar Peak in Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve.
Here is the trip description from the Tidbinbilla website:
Gibraltar Peak 8.2 km 2-3 hrs Moderate - Hard: The most direct route to Gibraltar Peak starts from Dalsetta, passing through open grassland before the climb to Eliza Saddle. From here, the trail traverses for a short distance featuring some fantastic views. After a steep climb, the imposing Gibraltar Peak is reached. Return via the same route or take the longer route via Eliza Saddle, Birrigai Time Trail, the Visitor Centre and Congwarra Trail.

We'll just be doing the out and back (direct route)
I haven't done the walk before but it sounds fairly easy and the views should be worth it.
It will take about 45minutes to drive there from ANU. I have a car which can fit 5 (although it will be cosy). If nobody else with a car signs up, the trip will have to be limited to the first 5 people. We can arrange pick up and drop off for those without cars.
The trip is weather dependent. At this stage the forecast for Saturday is that there is a chance of a late shower. Hopefully, since the trip is in the morning, we can beat the rain and still get some decent views. I'll be monitoring the weather over the next few days and the trip will be postponed if necessary.
Bring a picnic lunch, and if the weather is good we'll find a good place on the walk to stop.
