Climbing at the Point, camping at Honeymoon Bay on Saturday night.
Starting at some of the easier areas:
https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/point-perpendicular/area/763116990
https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/point-perpendicular/area/763118967
And then climb or top-rope whatever looks promising.
We'll leave Canberra early on Saturday and set up tents/get access to the camp site on the way. (If there is a car that wants to drive down on Friday night, that may also work and we can coordinate to meet on Saturday.)
While the grades may be easy, the climbing is still serious due to the remote location and sea-cliff nature of the climbing. You need to be comfortable rapelling, ascending/prussicing and be able to lead trad, set natural anchors and belay from above and below. You will need a helmet, harness, shoes, belay device (capable of guide mode) and carabiner, assorted slings, prussics, and as much trad gear as you can muster (Pt Perp has a reputation for eating cams).
You also need to be self-sufficient for car camping and prepared for any weather (both at the cliff and the campsite), although the trip may be cancelled if the forecast looks particularly gloomy. If it's just windy, we might go to Nowra instead.
All sign ups are expressions of interest only and I'll be in touch if there is a spot for you on the trip. If we haven't climbed together, please email me your climbing (and car camping) experience and whom you've climbed with in the club, or which trips you've been on.
Climb at Pt Perp. Nowra if it's too windy. Drive back if the weather turns horrible.
