Keeping the tradition of the club alive, we are planning a six-day mountaineering course with Aspiring Guides from Monday 21 November - Saturday 26 November, followed by 10-12 days of mountaineering. This course requires some previous knowledge and experience in mountaineering, and will build on this knowledge through advanced rope work, rescue, snow camping and ice climbing.
After the workshop, we propose to climb Mt Earnslaw (2819m) on a 5-6 day return trip. Depending on our energy after that, we propose a possible extra trip up Mt Avalanche (2606m) and Mt Barff (2252m).
The climbing expedition proposal for this trip is highly contingent on the weather and snow conditions. During the mountaineering workshop we will take the opportunity to assess the conditions of the mountains, and get expert advice from Aspiring Guides.
Further details will be posted closer to the trip.
To be updated closer to the trip.
