The Canberra Balloon Spectacular is considered to be one of the best and longest running hot air ballooning events in the world. Held over nine days, pilots begin laying out and inflating their balloons on the lawns of Old Parliament House from 6.15am each day before ascending into the sky and creating an exhilarating back drop to our national attractions. http://balloonspectacular.com.au/tips-for-spectators/
We'll meet at the boat shed at 6am to get on the water and paddle out to where we can see the balloons float past or with a lot of luck even dip down into the water within meters of us. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2c6YyxiuCk
So we can get out on the water efficiently, you'll need to have some kayaking experience with the club, please let me know when you sign up.
If the weather doesn't co-operate the balloons won't fly. Keep an eye on the website and your emails in case I have to cancel the trip.
A warm layer, morning snack and cameras recommended!
