Hey Team,
The Centenary Trail is a 145km walking and riding trail that loops around Canberra. It crosses between urban riding on bike paths to single trail through the country. Click here to get a map of the northern section of the Centenary Trail.
I'm not crazy enough to attempt the whole thing in one day so will focus on the segment from Hall - One Tree Hill - Mulligan's Flat. To keep the distance under 40km we'll start from Lyneham (cnr Goodwin and Mouat St), head up Ginninderra Dve to intercept the Centenary Trail at Lake Ginninderra. I'm aiming to take 4-5hrs to complete the loop so please be realistic about your fitness when signing up.
Minimum equipment:
- A serviceable bicycle (able to handle dirt trails)
- Helmet
- Spare tube
- Water (minimum 3L)
- Snacks
- Sunscreen
Coffee stops (and water refills) are available at Gold Creek, Hall, Forde and Dickson. Depending on how the group is handling the distance we can abbreviate the trip by returning via Flemington Rd or Federal Hwy.
This trip will be run in conjunction with my college so places are limited. If the group gets larger than 7 we may split into two separate groups a few minutes apart.
