The plan is to go to Mt Alexandra (Mittagong) and get some climbing happening. There are good number of routes graded from <10 to >20, so there is probably enough for most people to do in one day. We will be toproping, but if people are interested and demonstrate appropriate skills and attitudes, there may be some opportunity to practice leading as well.
You will need (most can be hired from gear store): helmet harness belay device locking carabiner climbing shoes (optional but very useful!) appropriate clothing for weather food and water for 1 day. When you sign up, please include your climbing experience (if any) and if you can bring a car.
This trip is contingent on someone signing up with a car. There are a number of us continuing on to Blueys for the rest of the weekend, but we need a car to return day trippers to Canberra. Guide: https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/mt-alexandra
Leave from SRA 8am, climb for 8 hours, return to Canberra around 8pm. Coleaders: Mark and Oscar.
