A storm is coming...
...and bringing snow on Sunday and Monday - maybe as much as 50cm in the Alpine Area. A couple of us are going to try for a desperado early season ski trip on Tuesday. We'll be driving to Charlotte Pass, walking across the Snowy River and skiing somewhere between Mt Northcote and Mt Twynam.
You will need your own backcountry ski gear (alpine touring, telemark, split board, etc. with climbing skins) as there won't be an opportunity to hire club gear. This could be a complete fizzer if: it rains rather than snows; it turns to rain at the end of the storm and then ices up overnight; the Snowy River floods and is too dangerous to cross. So this trip is really only suitable for desperate snow-chasing tragics.
