Forgot the beaches, the mountains are calling this summer!
A bunch of us have decided to go mountaineering in Mt. Cook National Park in NZ over the summer, with the intent of spending almost 3 weeks climbing mountains out of either Pioneer, Centennial, Tasman, or Plateau hut.
Of the current confirmed climbers, all of us are arriving in Christchurch on the 16th of December, with half returning on the 7th of January and the remaining half staying around for other adventures. We will be getting transport to Mt. Cook Village where we will be getting helicopter lifts into the selected hut.
If you'd like to join in on the fun, you'll need to have a mountaineering partner and be completely self-sufficient. There will be no teaching or training conducted on this trip, as this trip is only about climbing. All trip participants must be fully aware of the dangers involved in mountaineering and accept full responsibility for themselves and their climbing team - both on and off the mountain.
Fly to Christchurch, NZ to arrive on 16/12/2017. Get to Mt. Cook Village. Fly into a hut. Climb mountains as much as possible for about 2.5 weeks. Fly back to Mt. Cook. Get back to Christchurch. Fly home to Canberra to arrive on 07/01/2018.
