Are you new to Canberra and keen to explore some of our incredible walking trails? Or are you keen to get outdoors post covid and meet other outdoorsy people? Whatever your background, join us for this Come and Try Bushwalking trip to get a taste of what the ANU Mountaineering Club has to offer.
We will meet at the gate behind the War Memorial, and head up the Mt Ainslie walking track for sweeping views over the city and surrounds (this track is a Canberra staple! :D). On our way down, we will explore some of trails at the back of the nature reserve, with the options to see the quarry, a small dam and hopefully catch a glimpse of the beautiful resident Black Cockatoos!
This trip is suitable for walkers of all levels, as long as you don't mind some uphill walking.
Please bring:
- suitable shoes - runners or hiking boots
- ~1L water
- snacks if required
- warm layers as it may get chilly
