Do you have a dope bike-packing setup you want to show off?, have no setup but a backpack and a few Okky straps to attach a tent to the bars? Whether your on a swish carbon mountain bike, cheap commuter bike or a bike "borrowed" from friends or family, this trip is for you.
The Plan
We will leave ANU Sport at 2pm on Saturday and ride approximately 35 km anticlockwise along the centenary trail. After arriving at camp nice and early, we will have time for various activities like throwing a disc, card games, strolling through the bush, and those with Mountain bikes can come session a section of trail closer to one tree hill. (a few experienced mountain bikers will be there to give tips on descending)
The following day we will return via Hall and Bruce ridge, with a similar distance.
What to bring:
The campsite has toilet facilities, running water (not advised for drinking), sheltered picnic tables and some covered tent spots. In terms of gear, feel free to bring whatever you wish to carry. 2L of drinking water and a large dinner and breakky are recommended, as well as easy snacks like muesli bars to eat while riding. Tents, bivys and hammocks are all good options.
If required, gear can be hired from the gear store following our Covid policy. i.e. no sharing tents.
I recommend bringing a mountain bike for optimal fun, but this section of the centenary trail is possible even on a road bike, and of course any bike in between.
Pre trip: Thursday 3rd Sept. Essential for those wishing to hire gear.
contact me if you have any questions, or cant make it to the pre trip.
