**This trip is now at capacity**
This is a climbing trip aimed at those who have climbed at the club indoors for a little while and would like to take their first steps outdoors.
I will be co-leading this trip with Shubhankar Bankar.
The Plan:
Leave ANUSport around 7 to arrive at Tianjara falls at around 9am. We will then climb at one of several crags at Tianjara depending on how busy it is and what is available (most likely Homogenized Huskinson or Bill James Testimonial Gulley) until about 3-4pm depending on the day's progress and preferences of participants. This should have us returning to ANUSport at around 5-6pm.
What this trip will include:
- Top rope climbing
- Explanation of basic top-rope anchors and how to set them up
- Basics of outdoor climbing rope-work
- Belaying with an ATC (non assisted-braking) belay device
- Proper communication between climbers and belayers
- Etiquette and conduct at the crag.
What this trip will not include:
- Lead climbing
- Advanced anchors
- Information on multi-pitch climbing
****Mandatory Sign-Up Information*****
When you sign up you must:
- Outline your previous climbing experience (where you have climbed, for how long and how frequently)

Pre-Trip Meeting
A pre-trip meeting will be held at the ANUMC gear store on the Thursday before the trip (6/5/21), 5:30pm at the ANUMC gear store. This is an opportunity for us to organise cars, for you to hire any remaining gear and for you to ask any questions about the trip. If you cannot make the pre-trip, please email me ahead of time to let me know if you have hired the gear you need. The only other opportunity to hire gear will be the Monday (3/5/21).
