The sea kayaks still need some TLC. Hopefully this will be the session that finishes installing pumps, decklines, bulkheads, etc etc (but probably not). Anyhoo, it must be done, before we go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all we ask is a low windage kayak and a star (or GPS) to steer her/him by; And the rudder's kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, (soon me hearties, soon) And a grey mist (or not) on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking oer a glassy sea and following swell, with gentle breezes caressing us onwards to camp, on gorgeous sandy beaches unsullied by the brutish hand of man (or woman). [with apologies to John Masefield]. In other words, we must make the kayaks sea-worthy before we go onto the open ocean for an overnight trip.
Meet at the boat shed at 9am to load the sea kayaks, drive to Bywong, work on the boats, practice rolling and other techniques on the dam, and generally be merry, given that the work is nearly done. Preference may be given to those who have attended the rolling sessions and previous working bees. Returning to the shed around 4pm to help unload the boats.
