This is a climbing trip aimed at those who have some experienced top roping/ seconding outdoors and would like to learn skills necessary to lead sport routes .
I will be co-leading this trip with Terence Johnson. this trip will run vaguely in collaboration with a top roping trip to Tianjara happening on the same day.
The Plan:
Leave ANUSport around 7 to arrive at Tianjara falls at around 9am. We will then climb at one of several crags at Tianjara depending on how busy it is and what is available (most likely Homogenized Huskinson or Bill James Testimonial Gulley) until about 3-4pm depending on the day's progress and preferences of participants. This should have us returning to ANUSport at around 5-6pm.
What this trip will include:
- Lead Belaying technique with ATC (non assisted breaking bellay device)
- Proper communication between climbers and belayers
- Explanation and supervision of lead climbing technique
- Cleaning a route (safely removing quick draws after climbing)
- Etiquette and conduct at the crag.
What this trip will not include:
- Advanced anchors
- Information on multi-pitch climbing
****Mandatory Sign-Up Information*****
