MOOOOORE Granite, MOOOOORE Crack
Heading out to Pierce's creek to climb cracks on the weekend, come join :)
Experience
The cracks at Pierce's creek are mostly 19-22 or so, with a handful of easier ones. Everyone looking to come should be comfy on grade 19, and ideally familiar with jamming.
Everyone will also need to be comfortable lead belaying and trusting someone else's trad anchor at a minimum. Numbers will depend on experienced trad leaders.
Please detail your climbing experience when you sign up, especially if I haven't climbed with you before.
The Plan
We will head out to Pierce's creek and climb at some combination of Matricide area, Blackwater, Scone rock, and Kazbah. Should be able to get a good few pitches in before heading back around late afternoon. Check out these areas here: https://www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/australia/pierces-creek-bouldering/area/825935955
Gear
Everyone will need:
- Helmet
- Harness
- Climbing shoes
- Belay device and locking carabiner
- Nut tool
As well as lunch, sun protection and plenty of water for an active day. note: granite on bare skin hurts, bring sports tape if you want me to show you how to make some tape gloves.
Leave from ANU sport at 8:00am heading to Pierce's creek and climbing at blackwater and matricide areas. Potentially move on to Scone rock or Kazbah a little later depending on time:
