Reposting this to fill a few spots on our rescheduled trip. Fingers crossed we're not waylaid by rain again!
Join Terence and I for a trip to Black Range Boulders! This gem, located an hour east of Canberra in Tallaganda State Forest, is packed full of great granite boulder problems of all difficulties. This means that this trip is suitable for climbers of a broad range of experience, from beginner to absolute crushers. It should be a good opportunity for newer climbers to get some experience for real rock if this is where you’re at, or to climb some fun problems if you’re more experienced. Having said that, it’s probably a good idea that you’ve at least climbed a handful of times indoors so you’re somewhat familiar with the sport and the movements involved. No rope skills needed as we’re bouldering. There’s something here for everyone, and it’ll be a great day out. For more info on the location and climbs, check out:

The plan is to leave ANU Sport at 9am, drive ~1 hr to Black Range Boulders, and then return back to ANU Sport by 6pm that day. No pretrip needed for this one. Please indicate your level of experience when signing up. Please bring along $10 for fuel for drivers.
You’ll need to bring:
- Climbing shoes. If you don’t have these, you can hire from the gear store before the trip. See website for more details.
- Enough food and water for a big day out
- Sun/cold protection
- Plenty of stoke
Additionally, if you have any of the following it’s a good idea to bring along:
- Chalk bag
- Climbing brush
- Wire brush
In the case of wet weather we'll have to cancel. I'll make the call by 5pm the previous day. Any questions, feel free to reach out :)
