Apparently the chutes are top to bottom. Just waiting to see what the rain forecast is prior to totally committing. There IS hero snow left in the chutes of club lake and maybe Blue Lake. The beauty of spring (hero) snow is that you know what you're going to drop into on each turn (porridge), so you can try slopes in rocky gullies that are too sketchy in winter to do safely. There should also be enough easy angled snow down low for skiers of all levels to play on too. You walk up the edge of the slopes on the grass and ski down. The snow grass is wonderfully comfortable to sleep on and if it wasn't for the ubiquitous funnel webs that are out and about on the button grass looking for action at this time of year, I'd almost recommend bivvying. I don't, because seriously, the alpine funnel webs may be slow, but they're not to be trifled with. Keep your tent zipped up tight. We'll drive to Charlottes and hoof it to below the cirque of Club Lake to camp. A couple hours pretty easy walk. If the forecast is tooo bleak, the trip will be cancelled. Participants will have to be comfortable hiking and camping in the Mountains (off track, cold changeable weather with potential for snow storms).
