- **Duration:** Approximately 8 hours, including a 30-minute break for refreshments
- **Distance:** 20km (out and back), 5 hours going up and lunch& resting, 3 hours coming down.
- **Difficulty:** Intermediate to Hard. I don't recommend beginners to try.

**About the Hike:**
Our adventure begins at Corin Dam, where the steep ascents up along Stockyard Spur. Be aware that the first 3km will be the steepest challenges of the day.
As we journey through a diverse array of landscapes, including enchanting snow gum forests and delicate high-altitude wetlands, the true beauty of the Bindabella Ranges, affectionately known as "the Brindies," will unfold before us. The middle section of our trek may be quieter, offering a chance to reflect and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature, despite being a bit overgrown in places.
Reaching the summit of Mount Gingera, the second highest peak in the ACT, is a moment of triumph. Here, surrounded by the vastness of the Australian landscape, you'll enjoy unparalleled views of the region's surrounding mountains, including the iconic Mount Kosciuszko. It's the perfect spot to rest, explore, and taking nice pictures :)
**What to Expect:**
- **Terrain:** The trail is challenging, especially the final 1.2km ascent to the summit, where the path becomes steeper and the day warmer. Some sections are overgrown and has snakes, so wearing gaiters is advisable.
- **Wildlife:** Keep an eye out for snakes and be prepared for the presence of march flies, especially in the warmer months. Insect repellent is highly recommended.
- **Gear:** Due to the steep sections, hiking poles are recommended for additional support.
**Preparation Tips:**
- Bring enough water and snacks and lunch to keep you energized.
- Wear sturdy hiking boots and dress in layers to adapt to changing weather conditions.
- Don't forget your camera to capture the stunning views from the top!
**Head count**: currently considering 4 to 8 people, we’ll need two cars including 2 drives . You’ll need moderate hiking capacity to be prepared for it.
Whether you're seeking to challenge yourself, immerse in nature, or simply enjoy some of the best views the ACT has to offer, this hike promises an adventure like no other. Ready for the challenge? Lace up your boots and let's make memories on Mount Gingera.
