We will be heading down to the Pinch section of the Snowy River for a water release from Jindabyne Dam. This is a great section for beginners, there are many fun grade 2 rapids separated by pools, with easy access to the road for the whole length of the trip. There is also a gorge, but the hard rapids can be easily portaged, or an earlier take out can be organised.
To join this trip, you will either need to have some previous whitewater kayaking experience or have been regularly going to flatwater paddles.
The plan will be to meet at the Boatshed after work on Friday and then drive down to the Snowy that evening. We will return to Canberra on Sunday afternoon/evening. We will be car camping next to a river at a campsite with toilets.
