We are going to Tianjara Falls for lead climbing. The main goal is to teach participants how to lead sport or trad, depending on experience and interest. Participants should have climbed outdoors before, but there may be space for beginner outdoor climbers depending on numbers. You will only be eligible to join this trip if you detail your experience. Please share what climbing you have done + what you are hoping for on this trip. Participants will be chosen based on a spread of experience and objectives.
If you have top roped outdoors before, we would look to teach you sport climbing/belaying. If you are a competent sport climber, we would look to teach you trad climbing/seconding.
There will be space for more experienced climbers to come along cragging for fun + teaching too, so experienced climbers are welcome as well.
To come you must have:
- Harness
- Helmet
- Locking carabiner
- Belay device
- Climbing shoes
- We welcome anyone with quickdraws or ropes to bring those (please let us know in your signup if you have these and are willing to bring and use them on the trip)
To trad climb you must have:
- PAS (personal anchor system, or be familiar with other methods)
- Be a competent sport climber
We will have a PLB and FAK in the case of emergencies.
