Mount Kosciuszko is the tallest mountain in Australia and the snow cover makes it hard for hikers during the winter months. With winter coming to an end, I am planning to do 1-2 exploratory forays into the area before planning a multi-day hike covering the three tall mountains in the region.
This first exploratory trip is a 6-8 hour day hike starting from Charlotte's Pass to the Kosciuszko summit (18.6 km both ways). You can check it out at this link (https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/snowy-mountains/kosciuszko-national-park/summit-walk).
We meet at 7am at ANU Sport and drive about 3 hours to Charlotte's Pass. We should end by 5pm then head back to Canberra by 8pm.
As the hike is quite long, you need to have done previous walking trips (e.g., Namadgi National Park) to come on this trip. Please let me know your previous experience below.
