The ACT Rogaining association runs an annual workshop to teach the navigation skills necessary for Rogaining. I'm planning to go along to improve my map and compass skills and have a first try of Rogaining. Participating in Rogaining is a good first step towards learning to navigate in the back country. It would be great if a few other ANUMC members could attend!
The first day is mostly focused on theoretical skills. The second day is a practical exercise where we'll be paired-up and do an easy rogaine. The course is held in and around Canberra so you can stay at your own place between the two days.
